    Maybe in California but not in the real world. You're confused with a cold sore which is a strain of Herpes. Canker sores are caused by an injury inside the mouth. Like a small scratch caused by brushing your teeth or biting your cheek.. Highly acidic foods can also cause them as it eats the tissue inside your mouth. Even toothpaste can cause them.
