    Cover on when towing

I may be missing something. 21 TRX factory cover Fortrex 112.
When the cover is on and I try to tow with it on it looks like it is under a tremendous amount of stress and looks like it is going to come off around the TM.
I keep the passenger console in while covered and strap it down tight. Am I doing something wrong?

Agreed I have a 20 TRX still tryin to figure how to keep cover on and tight. Water pools on it. It’s a quality cover

With regards to the water pooling, I went to Home Depot and cut some PVC piping and made cheap poles that I placed on the back deck and one on the floor next to the console, they keep the cover elevated much like the seat does up front. Once I did this I have never had any issues again with water pooling up on the cover. Literally just made a square frame of the PVC as the base and one PVC piece upward like a support pole. Cheap and easy and works 100%....

I didn't need much to raise mine up on the back deck so I just used a plastics milk crate. Cheap and easy

Yah . It’s hard with only one console too. Made some PVC pipe to fit in the seat post hole. And a with couple Ts and running a piece from front to back . Makes a nice roof and the rain runs right off..

I only towed once with cover on in bad weather and my gas mileage went through the roof. It flapped and made noises so I was constantly watching in the mirrors and not where I was going. Unless you get specialist to custom make a heavy duty tow cover that comes right down the sides, I would try to avoid it.

put the seat poles in and make a frame of PVC pipe from the front to the back to carry the cover with one leg down to the deck to keep the cover up. Use 2 1/2" pipe with a 90 on each end and a tee in the middle to hold the leg with a tee on the bottom of the leg setting on the deck. I only glued one side of the tee so I could take it apart to hall if needed and not the down leg.

Sorry, I read the responses and got side tracked. Mine always balloons when trailering so I only do it if absolutely needed and short trip. Otherwise I just plan on a boat detail when I get home lol.

I will put some grommets around mine and use some bungee cords to hold mine down.

Any of you guys willing to send a pic of your PVC constructions? I'd like to build one myself. Thanks!

Are yall putting the cover on as tight as you can. I have the Trition Travel cover and do not have a problem. The cover stays tight after a 2 hour travel. Mine does have a pole that I put up where the single would be.

On my prior boat I had a Triton travel cover that ballooned a lot while towing. I had an upholstery shop sew in a "plastic clam shell" vent just behind the consoles. They sewed mesh into the hole as well. It worked well and took out most of the "ballooning". I now have a 2017 21TRX and the cover has a similar vent however it balloons more than my prior setup. I'm going to have another vent sewn into the cover. We get a ton of rain around here so it is a must to have a good trailering cover.

I have a 21 ft multi species and I use my cover all the time with no issues, but as someone stated, you have to have it tight. I do get some ballooning like you said but instead of a vent I’m going to have another strap added. Have you thought about adding another strap to cut down on the ballooning?

I cut the belly strap off because it rubs the gelcoat bad. I can get the cover tight with the ratchet straps at the rear. It just needs a way to vent the air out.

Never had a issue, single console as well. It came with a pole to put in place of where passenger console would go.
