    Crossfit Open

Anyone compete in the crossfit open? I'm gonna do it this year, this is the first round to qualify for the Crossfit games you see on TV. I don't expect to make it to the regionals, but I sure do love pushing myself. Anyone do it before?

    That's pretty impressive.

Crossfit is really fun to me. Its not my only focus when it comes to lifting. Ive done crossfit on Saturdays at a buddy's box, just moved to twice a week here recently and my regular workout is 2 days a week. The cardio is to kill for and it helps with my running.

Dated a girl that was a crossfit trainer and buddy is a trainer as well. They have met some that have competed in the games. Lots of respect for the athletes just not my thing.

Local kid was ranked in the top 50 for a few years , he decided to get a real job and his dad bought him a roofing company. He decided to open up a local training club , says it is more financially rewarding than competing.

Did Crossfit in 2016 and competed in the Opens in 2017. It was a great experience and I really liked Crossfit but just can't it in the schedule right now.

Not this year. I'm trying to quit. No Olympics, no crossfit, no UFC, no running, or trying to move heavy stuff. So far so good.

A vegan, an atheist, and a crossfitter walked into a bar.

    Which one told everyone first?

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I hurt my back a few weeks ago when I slipped on ice trying to jog in my neighborhood and that has slowed my exercise down a bit, but the eating portion is still going well... up to 90 lbs lost. Back has been feeling better and I'm hoping to get back on the exercise wagon full strength this week

I was excited to try to run and pushed to do it too soon. Found some black ice. Learned my lesson.

So an update. My conditioning is absolutely terrible in crossfit standards.

I finished 127,000 out of 227,000. Disappointment for me as my lungs failed before the rest of my body.

Now to work on my conditioning and do better next year.

Hang in there. You will reach your goal. Congrats for even trying. That is more than many will ever do.

I look at this as you finished better than a 100,000 people. Not 10 people....better than 100,000 people!! Hold your head up high.

Its kind of funny, I can run far and lift heavy but when you combine the two I am terrible. It was a fun experience stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying to physically push yourself to the limit and then try to go beyond that.

Crossfit good way to get injured. Son-in-law in shoulder rehab right now. They do some goofy crap. High repetition cleans is one.
