If you are just moving the boat across ice, what about a 12ft jon with caster wheels installed on the bottom?

Your use(ice- why is some of the Lake frozen and the other half not frozen) and description of the lakes(public/private) you want to fish does not help us figure out a boat.Get a 12ft or 14ft johnboat spray the bottom with pam and drag it or put boat on plastic sleds. Heck just chain it to a tree and use it when you want. I did this when I was a kid and nobody bothered my boat.why the heck do you need a 5hp and trolling motor ? Just get a size 31 battery and a 55lb trolling motor.

I'm fishing a power plant lake w/o a launch. We need to pull it across ice many times pretty far. Lots of current and need more than just a troller to be safe. We have a huge troller, But it aint enough.

I have not seen a stable jon boat with pedestal seats.... I'd be interested though.

If you can trailer to the power plant I still think this would be awesome.

If the fish are stacked up at the discharge- fish from shore ?? Sounds illegal to me > Fishing in a power plant lake without a launch in a boat ? Fishing in a power plant lake in the winter when fish are stacked at the discharge ?? Homeland should shoot you before you get half way to the power plant dragging a boat filled with Stuff.

For decades the good old canoe has been the answer for rough partages, backwaters etc. I think I would go with a flat stern canoe and a set of wheels, There are nice seats with backrests you can use and they can handle a good amount of weight. For extra stability I would consider adding a side pontoon if you felt you needed it.
Check out this video and many more on you tube.

Look at a hyde or clacka craft drift boat or skiff, you would need to figure out the trolling motor but myself (250 LB) and two buddies fish out of my 14'6" hyde and it is very stable since they are so wide. The front and back seats are on raised decks and they allow up to a 10 hp motor. A skiff only weighs 220 pounds. https://www.hydeoutdoors.com/drift-b...ountain-skiff/

Or Hyde also makes a small two man, problem is I dont think it takes a outboard. 130# hull weight

here is a model i have its 10 ft which is 165 pds and with a 5 hr 4 stroke it is way to heavy to put in and out of the back of the truck
i also have the 8 ft and the add says 90 pounds but i dont think mind is that heavy i got a merc 3.3 2 stroke and it is super light for putting in the truck it is superr easy to pull this to it from the truck to the water. if you have and academy they should have these in stack for you to see in person
