I would go with Sho and different dealer my self. I guess if I had to chose between those two, it would depend on whether you want the most speed or a motor that will be real dependable. The Mercury for speed and the Suzuki for a motor that will run a long time with great reviews for long running.

Hang on and see if Merc announces some new lighter high horsepower 4 strokes at the Miami show this week end.

UPDATE: New 175, 200, and 225 4 stroke just announced.

Even if your local dealer is not a yamaha or honda dealer cant they just order you the engine/boat configuration you want from bass cat? Or do they have to be an authorized dealer of xyz engine company?

I'm pretty certain the dealer would have to be a certified dealer for xyz motor company. If he wasn't, he'd likely not be able to do any service work, warranty or otherwise. Some dealers won't even take a boat as a trade in, unless it has the engine brand that they sell.
