I am looking at pulling g the trigger on a 97 pro elite 285.
Couple questions
What is the max hp for the boat.
What makes a pro elite VS pro xl
Is there a place to find original brochure. Or literature..
It has a 175 Johnson carb motor.
This will be my first glass and first bass boat. I have a 14.5 starcraft that I have out grown.
Anything specific to look for or do to the boat.
I have a 99 285 PE so i would imagine they are similar

If you contact stratos, they should have the original brochure/owner's manual in pdf format, they sent me one.
pro elite did away with the hand rail,smoothed out the top cap.the switches and dash were changed
around as well.pro elites touted a composite hull sticker,for what it's worth.
I have a 96 pro xl and a 97 pro elite 295 and these are the only differences in
the two i can find.
285 is 18.8' and rated for 175

I have a 1997 and forgot where I went to find the brochure. Downloaded it in PDF format. FYI. It will be VERY helpful in figuring out how the live wells work/operate from helm to front.
