Ive always leveled the trailer on flat ground along with the truck and measure from center of the receiver on the truck to the ground then center of the trailer tongue to the ground subtract the difference and that's the length drop you need. similar to measuring prop to pad.

I have a 2017 f250 4x4 with a 5” drop on a 21’ triton that works but it needs to be about 6” to be perfectly level. A 7” drop would be too much

Why not pick up an adjustable hitch from B&W hitches? one of the best things ive ever bought.

I didn’t want to spend extra for the b&w hitch because the only thing that Ford will pull is the boat, it’s not the work truck. If the op was going to be multiple trailers I’d recommend an adjustable hitch for sure.
