    42” Fortrex?

Hey guys—I just replaced my Fortrex with an Ultrex. The new 45” Ultrex is longer than my old motor so I measured the Fortrex and realized the shaft was only 42”. Did Minn Kota ever offer 42” Fortrexs from the factory or would this have been a shortened 45? I’m the second owner so I’m not sure about the history....I know it dates back to ~2010. Just curious for resale purposes. Thanks!

The Fortrex's were designated as 45" and the Maxxum's were designated as 42". Both use the same shaft, which is actually 43.75" long. The 45" Ultrex uses a shaft that is 48" long, but it has a 3" depth adjustment collar which gives you 45" of adjustment.

Perfect John. Thank you! That’s interesting...explains why I felt the Ultrex was longer when I installed it. Because it is! Just wanted to make sure I didn’t advertise the motor incorrectly.
