I was thinking transom would be the way I would go with a 360! I am putting 2 Solex Mega 12's on my boat. What do you think? Trolling motor 360 or Transom? Richard

Well I have an ulterra so no good way to mount to it, there are klunky aftermarket kits but not to my liking, transom allows you to check an area without deploying the trolling motor which might be handy for checking brush piles in clear water over spooky fish

I have the transom mount 360. Works great when I'm on the trolling motor because I set the offset and know exactly where I am on the screen.

I went with the transom mount so I could idle with the big motor when scouting an area.

cool, so that offset is usually 18-20ft depending on length of boat ??

I’m curious how high do these things stick up ? just wondering if a ski pole will clear them for the kids ?

What do you mean by setting the offset? I don't get it.

usually 6-10 inches above top of motor......there is some flexibility depending on boat could be just about at height of the motor to clear a ski rope would be tough but might be able to make it work

you can set an offset distance of where the 360 is relative to where you are in the boat....mine has line and a blue dot at the offset distance, it helps you stay aware of correct distance of the casting range rings relative to where you are standing when you cast....
