Can't imagine why anyone would put a racing motor on the back of that particularly (large) boat...

    Motors are very strong however.

The 300 XS is a strong motor. Pretty sure it will require premium fuel. With the correct lower unit should be fine. Big ole heavy boat, might work great.

have been running motors from the racing division since 1995.
IMO the 300XS is the best one I have ran for a fishing application.

Much thanks guys. This is my 2nd Z22 and yes she is a heavy big girl alright. My last one had the 250 ProXB on it which was darned good on it. Looking forward to see what the Racing 300 is like.

IT a big boat and it should be ok if you run a Torquemaster or Verado lower unit . A Sportmaster , i don't think will run well with your boat , as they are made to run high and for light boats running 85 mph and over .

A Bravo 1 should be a good prop if you find the right pitch for your load and sytle of fishing .

Thanks again. The Torquemaster is essential. The Sportmaster would not hold up. I used the Bravo XS with 8 pvs holes on my Z21 and she ran great after the usual tweeking.

The sportmaster would "hold up", it's not a matter of gearcase reliability...it's a matter of the correct gearcase for the application.
