    Chevy doesn't offer the 6.2L gas any more and it never required premium level gas. Around here diesel fuel is $0.40+ higher than gas so assuming you drove 25K miles per year, it would take you more than 12 years to break even with the extra cost of getting the D-Max.

    According to GMC.com the 6.2 is still available in the 2018 model year. No, they don’t require premium fuel but recommend it if you want peak performance. And the tell you if is knocks, run a higher grade. So you can run a lower grade of gas but then you don’t get the performance you paid for and I bet your mileage suffers. If your going to do that just get a 5.3.

    6.2 is only available in crew cab 1500s
    2500 gas is a 6.0 iron block
