Ok guys so I am looking to upgrade my jerkbait rod. Please note this will be a technique specific rod. Looking for opinions on rods under $200. TIA

Daiwa cronos or Tatula Elite ML power, regular action. Regardless of price my favorite jerkbait rod, and its not very close.

    Phenix M1

If I had to pick just one jekrbait rod to fish with the rest of my life, it'd the Phenix M1 MX72ML. I've found it to perform perfectly with jerkbaits. The action is perfect, it's balanced, and it's super lightweight. Another thing I like about this rod is the attention to detail; it even looks good. Phenix also has a great warranty program.

I held one of these last night at the local bps. It actually felt like a great rod . Light and a good tip.

I appreciated the rod even more once I got it on the water and hooked up with some angry Mille Lacs smallmouths.

Kistler Rods 7' 0" L/MH Fast Helium III. I Have been using this as my jerkbait rod the last two seasons and doubles as an excellent topwater rod as well. I'll shoot you a PM here in a sec.

This! Bought my first one 2 years ago, and it was so great I bought another one last year. Fast tip, short rod length so you never hit the water on the snap.

Take a look at the Fenwick HMG 6'6" medium. It's what I use, and it's great. Older model, but does the job. Has a soft enough tip for a little give but good backbone. Even Tackle Tour said its action is almost like a crankbait rod in a review a few years back. Best of all, they're $99.99. Remember, the fish don't care what you paid!

Falcon has a Cara that's 6'5" called the Jerkbait Special for $189 at TW. Granted I don't have this rod but I have mostly all Cara rods and love them all. There's a Mike Mclleland Signature Series jerkbait rod that's 6'8" but it's $259.

Not under $200 less you find them on sale but the Dobyns 685cb is a sweet rod and doubles for small 1.0 cranks. Love this rod.
