Local boy and Elite Rookie Chris Groh, according to BassTrakk, sits in 6th place halfway through day 1 at Lake Martin. How about we get a little cheering section going for him!

Been fishing the same club tourneys with him since 2004. He's a good stick

17th after day 1, not bad. My boss knows him and I've met him a couple times, seems like a decent dude and he must be a pretty good stick to even qualify for the Elites. I'll be rooting for him for sure.

He fished in 55th place to bad he didn't make the cut for the rest of the tournament.

Not to bad, 1 decent kicker would have moved him well up in the standings. All in all a decent start, I imagine the learning curve has to be tremendous going from the opens to the Elites. No shame in beating nearly half the field.
