Not finding a whole lot about Gambler boats

From what I can tell, they are a small builder known for speed (go figure) and looks. Might have found a little gem, but the motor won't go in reverse. Thinking it might be a simple fix, and at 2k for an 89 it leaves me room to fix it. Are there any specific things I should look at that are known Gambler issues? Would a boat like that be silly to buy for a beginning boater?

Ah. So I'm guessing if there is a Gambler boat forum, there must be a specific forum for everything. Thanks for the heads up!

Sounds more like the issue is with the motor, not the boat !! Could be a broken cable.
