I have an '05 TR186 w/150 Merc XR6. I spoke with both Seastar and Triton and they both do NOT recommend the Baystar. It's not designed for high performance bass rigs nor boats that exceed 55mph. They did recommend a SeaStar system but advised there was no need for the Seastar Pro system.

The regular seastar system with hoses will run you about $1k. I bought mine online from FredWarner and was by far the cheapest of all online retailers.

I did mine with a couple buddies this off season. Used 14' hoses and fit perfectly. You will have to cut a larger hole for the helm. just make sure you've got a good jigsaw. I also needed to buy the straight hose fittings for the helm pump. The kit comes with 90 degree fittings and they didn't fit under the console. Good luck!

thanks for all advice, i am going to see what i can do to put a bandaid on it. I'm thinking of just buying NFB cables and getting by with that. Just can't drop a grand right now on steering.
