I use a four inch wide razor blade scraper. Your local Home Depot or Lowe’s will carry them.

If it is jus the glue and no backing stuck to the boat you don't need to remove it. When you apply the new glue/contact cement it will regenerate the old glue.
Formula 747 carpet adhesive remover from Home Depot works great. The use goof off to finish off any stuborn spots
I don't always find schooling fish but when I do I backlash on the first cast
