    Latest on used boat taxes?

If you by a boat from out of state from an individual, do you still only pay taxes on the trailer? Has anyone done this lately?

Yes you will pay sales tax on the boat trailer, most people get a separate bill of sale for the boat, the motor and the trailer

The taxes on boat & motor bought from an individual in or out of state went away. Still have to pay taxes on trailer as Oiltech09 stated.

Just get the seller to value the trailer at 500 bucks or so on the bill of sale......

Try and get the bill of sales notarized, both the trailer and boat. Other wise you’ll need witnesses and copies of drivers licenses.

you probably still need to fill out that form and get the parish sales tax agency and the state dept of revenue to sign off on it showing no tax due.
