What length and power rod do you like ?
What length and power rod do you like ?
I prefer a shorter rod, 6'8"-7'0", medium-heavy, moderate fast.
Personally, I use a 7' BPS Med Action Carbon Lite. No complaints.

I like a 7’ MH fast action rod. Basically any “do it all” rod will work.
6’6” loomis Imx medium heavy. used to use a lighter rod but didn’t always drive the hook home hard enough and would lose some fish near the boat.
Red Sox in 6!
Same one I use for jerkbaits.
I have a shimano MH crankbait rod in 7'0". I can cast them well with a 3/0 or 4/0 wg hook. I tend to like a rod with more bend deeper into the rod blank. Tried a 6'8" mh fast but did not like the way the tip felt for them, but that is just me
I use a dobyns 742c hp or nrx 852s. I like medium powered rods. Better loading tip for a relatively light bait. Compensate for the lower power by using braid with a flouro leader.
I throw mine on a spinning rod just like the way it fishes a fluke better. I throw them on a 7' Level Rods medium spinning rod with 15lb power pro and different fluoro leaders.
I throw mine on a 7' MF, but I use light wire hooks and braid with a leader.
I either throw mine on my jerkbait rod as Ben suggested, or on a spinning rod as wvufan10147 suggested. I like a mh just to drive the hook home, but have found that you can absolutely bomb them out there with a spinning rod on braid.

"It's just fishing"
I use alot of flukes , they are just fun to fish with and I use a longer rod than alot of people have mentioned. I use a 7ft 4in medium heavy . I like the longer rod to make long casts and can get a good hookset at the end of my cast. I don't feel it to be cumbersome for the extra length.
Depends on how and where I'm fishing it .... if I am fishing it like a jerkbait, in more open water, I use my jerkbait rod. 6', medium power, fast action. If I am fishing it around heavy cover and twitching it and letting it fall, I fish it on 6'6" medium heavy, or heavy power, fast or extra fast action rod.
The type of line I use depends also. I fish them on either fluorocarbon, or regular nylon mono. Regular mono if I want them to sink more slowly on the fall, fluorocarbon if I want to fish them deeper. I'm not a big fan of braid for weightless baits.
I like fishing a fluke, I generally fish my jerlbait rod 6'6" MF using 10 lb fluorocarbon but vary from a 3/0 light wire to a 6/0 heavy flipping hook depending on the mood/depth of the fish. I don't have trouble hooking up even with the heavy flipping hooks and a medium rod.
6’6” med spinning. 8-10# flouro.
8' Medium Heavy cranking stick.
