Paul Nichols I have a question...

I have read that in the past you decided that 14 inches of setback on the motor is ideal on the 21X boats. I have a 21XRS which has a different balance point which is further forward and it also weighs more than the Xboats. Several of us have added 2 inch spacers to the 14 inch jackplate which came on our boats and it is felt we get slightly better performance with this setup. What is your opinion and why? Thanks in advance for your response!

The heavier boat may benifit a little on topend with the extra 2" of setback due to changing the center of gravity/fulcrum point.
