90 hp NITRO SAVAGE 896 WILL IT GET UP ON PLANE??

Curious to see if anyone had any input... will a 90hp with the correct prop get a 19' boat up on plane. Thanks for any input.

Damn. That may be tough. Isn’t that boat rated for 200?

Yes it is rated for a 200. I am just curious. A friend of mine is giving me his 1996 savage 896 and I was wondering If I could even putt around in it with the 90hp I have.

I have a friend who blew his 150 or 200 on his skeeter a couple years ago. He had access to a 90 to get by on till he could afford a bigger motor. You hear him coming down the lake because it sounds like a lawn mower coming. He can get on plane but only gets something like 38 mph out of the boat. A lot of that will depend on your payload, pack light! Good news is he still wins tournaments, lol.

I would think if you propped it right it would plane. but you would have to watch your rpms.
