we left springfield about 2:15 and got home at 7:55, normally a 2 hour drive took us 6 hours due to all the wrecks on I-44.
sat in one jam just west of Phillipsburg for 2-1/2 hours then managed to go around everything else. the big 100 car pileup that was at MM 108 was where we sat for so long. highway was just a sheet of ice through there.
we got pretty lucky had one guy spin out ahead of us and one guy almost slid into the side of us but I noticed it quick enough and was able to get out of the way. then I slid 2 different times and then just locked the 4 wheel in and ran it the rest of the way home.
we got pretty lucky that's for sure.
was nasty out.
