I wonder why he prefers 8 footers? Why not go with 10 or 12s?

8ft Talons in shallow water and Ultrex for anything deeper. The new style 8 ft talons sits lower than a 250 motor. He will never have clearance issues because if the motor clears a low obstacle then the Talons will clear. Going to 8 ft anchors seem to be the new trend with the pro's on tour since the release of the Ultrex. This applies to Power Pole and Talon. There is also more people switching to Talon with the 8 ft model because they will never have to worry about clearance issues. In 2017 there were 6 Talon boats in the Elite field. In 2018 there is 13 boats with Talon's and most all of them are the compact 8 ft model.

So far I have had no regrets, if you're still in the area maybe I'll see you around.
