    Question Command Thrust Lower Unit?

Anyone have the "Command Thrust" lower unit on there boat? My brother just bought a brand new 115hp Mercury with Command Thrust lower unit, 2.38:1 gears, and had it installed on a 17.5' Nitro last week. He's needing some prop and pitch recommendations. He's being told by the dealer & Mercury everything from a 19p 3-blade to a 26p 4-blade and all kinds of in between. Anyone have any experience with this type of setup?

Probably get more info in the Mercury 4 stroke forum here than this one, they will have more experience with the 115 than those here.

A lot of guys in the tim boats section have experience with that motor. 26 will be too much for that for sure. It’ll probably be somewhere between a 19 and a 21 depending on if he goes 3 blade or 4 blade.

+1... or at the very least, in the 4 stroke forum, WITH required engine info (and boat info).

Command Thrust Gearcase spins a larger propeller (providing access to a much wider array of larger-diameter, more efficient propellers).
