    What I was referring is not a "hitch extender" it's a longer draw bar (ball mount) that is rated a 7500 lbs. or 10,000 lbs. I know I'm not the sharpest tack in the shed but extending the length of were your ball is will add weight to your hitch, not take it away, in no way can it reduce the weight of your tongue, or that's my opinion but I was wrong twice yesterday and 3 times today, just ask my wife.

    He meant it reduces the weight you can put on your tounge by 50% or up to it
