Need some simple ideas for transducer problem

My minn Kota has the skeg and prop at opposite ends and there’s not enough room to fit the transducer between. I made a temporary rig by mounting it against the side of the skeg a cutting aluminum shims to slide in under the side of the bracket to help level the transducer. Need a better fix. Any ideas for a nonengineer?

Is the skeg and prop on opposite sides? Can you post a picture?
