    1996 EFI motor

    fishing partner looking at a boat with a 1996efi motor any input on the good,bad are uglies of this particular motor,appears to be well kept,with low hours used on small lakes only.

    2.5 are tried and true ,good mtrs when well maintained and not abused

    I have a 1996 150EFI on my Astro. My father bought it new. I got it from him when he passed. Excellent motor. Knock on wood but we haven't had the first issue. Starts right up every Spring after sitting for five months.

    It's a 2.5L.

    I have a 1993 200 EFI 2.5 and have owned a few new 21 footers with 225 HPDI and old Evinrude Ficht/ the 200 EFI has by far the most reliable engine I have had but does lack all of the new technology
