Air Fryer Fail... home made french fries.

Out of all the foods ive cooked in my air fryer the one which is a total fail was home made french fries.

If anyone has figured this out please share as I love good steak fries. Otherwise frozes fries from the grocery are great.

I make homemade steak fries that I deep fry. I cut them up and boil them until they are half cooked and then put them in the fryer. I would imagine the same technique would carry over to an air fryer.

Cut them around 3/4”. Soak the fries in water for at least a half an hour. Drain and dry. Cook for 8 minutes at about 330. Pull them out and let sit for 10 minutes. Cook for 15 minutes at 390, stirring halfway. You can toss them in olive oil before cooking if you want.

Yes frozen are fine.. Its the home made type that are giving me fits.

I have followed the soaking method and had better success. Still nothing like deep fried or frozedn. Still cant complain though as the fryer is used almost daily.
