    Post Tandem Axle Trailer Noise

I have a very distinct “rubbing” noise coming from the starboard side of my tandem axle trailer. I thought/think that I have a brake caliper(s) that is not disengaging properly. I jacked the trailer up and spun all four wheels with no resistance. I checked all the caliper bolts to ensure that none came loose. I even put my metal key in the actuator that the manufacturer supplied and took it around the block and it still made the noise. I checked the entire c- channel frame to make sure that there was no debis in the frame causing the noise. I’m puzzled...

Does it do it after a drive of decent distance?

Disk brakes dont don’t release from the rotor. They just stop pushing on it, so unless all is true there will be a little noise as the pads rub on the rotor. Most will make quite a bit of noise if they’ve been sitting.

The noise seems just as apparent at longer distances as well as short distances. I did notice one peculiar thing and that was that although sometimes intermittent, it would be exaggerated if I hit a bump, or say crossed railroad tracks.

Check to see if the caliper is properly secured.

I checked ALL four wheels... appear to be fine.

How long has it been since you checked your springs, bolts, and shackles ? You'll get creaking and scrubbing noise if they're worn.

Yes check you caliper. I had to pull my wheel off and check it that way and the caliper was not on correctly and after readjusted it it turned out just fine, But I had to take the wheel off first.
