    Mercury Control Pin Out

Want to add tilt and trim at the bow. Can someone tell me what wires I need to use?

    There's a Tan, Red, Blue/White and a Green/White.

Also how do I tighten the throttle handle, it's a bit loose.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Serial number irrelevant for this situation. Red is the hot and blue/white goes to up trim and green/white goes to down trim. Which throttle box do you have.

Thank you for the pinout. How do I tell what throttle box I have?

There are a number of possible controls that you might have in your boat (most of which have a round button on them).

A picture will help to identify.

In regards to your original question:

Power (+) will be Red, or Red w/Purple Stripe (in some cases just purple).

UP will be Blue w/white stripe. (or simply blue)

DOWN will be Green w/white stripe. (or simply green).

    Hope this helps...

Looks like I may need to open up the control. No brass nut?

Definitely suspect it's an aftermarket control. Perhaps a wider-angle view showing the entire control/handle?

Control is a 2006 Mercury. Also has the official Mercury logo on the button I popped out. I'll get a picture tonight when I get home.

+1... you had us all thinking it was a Panel-Mount control.

    All done.

Took the controller off the mount. Backed the bolt out, added some locktite, tightened it back up.

Remote T&T all hooked up also.

    Thanks everyone for your help
