Thanks aero320 for the great post. Wish you lived closer, I'd love to spend a day with you just learning about your electronics, fishing would just be a bonus.

Here is what the bubbles look like under the Sonar, I have been over bait for a long period and it left a solid Blue stripe. The first pic you can tell there is bigger fish out to the right. A group in the greenish color are the bottom and a few more just under the boat more scattered.
Is the big fish that one blue dot between the white lines?

No seems the blue dots is bait fish, the greenish bubbles and other colors are the fish

Bait is purple or dark blue the bigger fish is the light blue, before the bait on the right side of them.
The colors actually correspond to the depth of the targets. There is an additional setting that displays targets by “intensity” with the largest being red. I find that a more convenient way to identify larger fish. Also if you indicate two schools of targets (one being baitfish and one being Hybrid Stripers), the spheres will be farther apart on the Hybrids.

Ok how long did it take you to get a screen shot of a whale/
I have to admit, I stole the photo from a Raymarine user. Getting that shot in IL might take a while.
