    4 blade suggestions

Just purchased a 16 Phoenix 921 Pro xp. It has a 250 Pro xs on it with a Fury 25 currently.. I'll wait until I have some time on it, but I've always run 4 blade props and like the handling and holeshot. I haven't read many positive statements about Phoenix Boats running 4 blade props.

I don't care much about top speed, so loosing 3 or 4mph doesn't matter. I want stability and holeshot. Any prop suggestions?

Tried out a 24 pitch Rubex prop Sunday. Great holeshot and overall acceleration, but too many rpms. Swapped it for a 26 Rubex today. Also traded my 25 Fury for a 25.5 Bravo 1 xs. I’ll post an update and let know how they work out.

I believe the pitch is going to be TOO LOW on the Bravo1.

Weather allowing, I hope to try both new props out this weekend. Sure hope you’re wrong, but I was planning on using it as a summer/heavy load prop. I had been told to go with a 26 Bravo, but got a good deal on the 25.5.

The 25.5P Bravo1 is actually a 24P... With taller cup.

My experience is the +1.5" Bravos (25.5",27.5", 29.5" etc.) have too much cupping and cost a little on top end.

I’m fine with losing top end as long as I have good holeshot and control. Didn’t realize the 25.5 was a 25 with different cupping. Test drive will prove it out or not. I’ll probably never run over 60mph except for trying to get the boat propped correctly for me.

    It's a 24" with different cupping.

Typo on my part. I saw where 21XDC had said that. I’m trying the Rubex 26 this weekend. It will probably be the following weekend before I try the Bravo 1. Is the 26 Bravo 1 completely different that the 25.5? Dealer just said he thought it would do what I was looking for, with a heavy load, during the summer months.

    The 26 is a real 26" bravo not a cupped 24

Then what is the 25 Bravo 1? I figured the 25.5 might be a modified 25, but that’s crazy it being a modified 24. Guess I screwed up on this one. Hope the 26 Rubex works out okay. I’m sure my dealer will trade me something else if the Bravo doesn’t work out.

Have you tried one on a Phoenix? Most people don’t even suggest using a 4 blade on a Phoenix boat. If neither of the props I have work for me, I’ll give the Fury 4 a try.

Haven't tried one yet but I've got one from my last boat that I'm going to try on my 721/sho whenever I get a hub.
The majority of Phoenix guys that I've seen and heard that have tried them are in 920's and 721's, they have a quicker holeshot, better handling, and less chine but they lose 4-5 mph up top so they go back to the 3 blade. The 921's seem to only lose a couple mph.

Let me know how it works. I was told today that the Rubex is just as soft as other Solas props. Dealer that sold it to me said they were harder. Guess I’ll try it out and pray for the best.

Mark Croxton suggested the Bravo 1 26 pitch. He said the Fury 4 has more bow lift than the Phoenix needs. The 25.5 Bravo ran really good, but rpm was borderline high as could hit the rev limiter and it was running about 65mph gps. Rubex 26 couldn’t get to 6000 and holeshot was bad. With all vents open it would only turn 3000 on take off. This was with 3 in the boat and full tank.

Keep in mind in Mansfield, Texas, dialing in props in January for ideal performance can lead to being overpropped six months later.
