    Thanks. I found the date on my cables was oct 95. The boat is a '94 so maybe they were changed out. I didn't even know they had no feed back steering back then. Going back with the same setup the only difference is they are 2 completely separate cables any more. They are 1 connected prior to bolting on to the helm. Saved me $100 over the baystar but I really don't want to pull the motor again! I've had to do it way too many times already. I'll just be glad to be back on the water though.

    Sry to hear about the bad luck with customer service. Unfortunately since I work in the industry I've seen different opinions on the same products. I still believe you would not be happy with the baystar in the long run. I'd go with the cable for now, cause I'd definitely rather be fishing as well, and start saving for the pro series down the road. SeaStar is a great company and great products, unfortunately they all don't know the products. Good luck
