    Lowrance HDI Transducer mount repair

Those that use the Lowrance HDI transducer mounted on their trolling motor, know how fragile the plastic mounting cup is. After breaking a couple running into stumps, I fixed the problem by pop riveting small sheet metal reinforcements on each side. I know this has a limited interest but thought it was worth posting.

Not a useless post at all as i am already on my second one. The 1st only last couple months. I have found though that the looser you make the hose clamp without it coming off the TM the better. If it is tightened to the max and u hit stump or rock it will most likely break. But if it losser when u hit said objects it will most likely swivel/turn around the TM. Just my opinion of something to try if you have no way pop rivetting.

I've thought about this since I busted off the first one (5 mounts ago) just never tried it. Thanks for posting, I'll be doing this to both the one on the boat and the spare I always keep on hand
