    Patoka or Monroe Ice?

Can you put in and fish either lake??

Went by Patoka via S.R. 145 this afternoon and it is still frozen over for the most part. The high winds should help eat away at the ice but it may be a few more days. Painter's Creek still has ice at the ramp out past the bridge. Can't advise as to any other ramps, however...

I know a lot has changed since then, (weather wise) but I flew out of Indy this past weekend and flew over both lakes. Monroe was 100% solid except for inside the break wall of the marina. Didn't get nearly as close to Patoka but there was some open water on the main in front of Painters, the rest of the lake was locked up.

My wife and I spent the night at Frenchlick Springs hotel on the evening of January 1st, as we drove by the lake on our way down only the coves were frozen however that nigh it got down to like -5...............on our way back home the next day the lake was totally frozen and has pretty much stayed that way ever since.

I'll be at Patoka Sunday. Should be ice free. But if not, I'll chop a hole for you.

I’m planning on Sunday also. Looks like it’s gonna be coming up pretty good.
Came up .5 last night as the main run off water has not reached there yet.

I never had a sniff anywhere today. Fished clearer, deep, main lake stuff most of the day.
Found 48+ water in painters behind the bridge.
    But did not get bit.
