    SHO prop

Where's a good place to start for a fishing prop. Something that will really carry a load?

The promax hole shot is not the greatest on the SHO lower, especially with a load. Super mid range and up when it does lock in. Bravo has proven to be my best fishing prop. I have all holes plugged in the prop.
The Yamaha props do very well up to about 3/4” up. Beyond that, it wants to crab the stern at speed. These will not work on fat shaft without getting hub replaced. Yamaha now stops at 27p.
The TXP O/T hubs run similar to the promax, but blade retention can be an issue.
Either Bravo XS or FS have the flare pre trimmed. The XS has 8 holes, the FS 4. An original will need flare trimmed for the Stroker.
The SHO lower prefers big barrel, large diameter, non vented props IMHO.

Thanks again for the help guys. This SHO is going to be a little out of my wheelhouse. My knowledge is really about 260's and 280's, but I have excepted those days are gone.

With the girth of the SHO lower unit you are going to be happier with a larger diameter prop such as the yamaha T or SHO series 15.125" or the bravo 1 in the XS or the FS 15.25" ..

If you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to the T-1 or T-2 try the Solas scorpion. It is a T-1 copy but runs really well on my 21xd. They can be bought for around $350 and carry a load well and are excellent for fishing. I run 87 tournament loaded with a 27 pitch at 5900 rpms. The scorpion run 2 pitches stiff compared to most props. Also the 3 blade txp performs well but the scorpion is better overall

Cant go wrong with a Bravo. May not be the fastest but they handle well. Plug the PVS holes and let her eat.
