Which is the priority for most of you?
Which is the priority for most of you?
I have to do both since im a blob of unfitness, lol
My main goal is to lose my belly weight so my clothes fit comfortably again. Don't like the waist band of my pants slipping off the belly roll.

Both for me.. im used to being very athletic and in great shape but that has slipped away the past several years. Would like get to doing 5ks and obstacle races would require 50+lb loss and a good bit of fitness
They both go hand in hand......... but lifting heavy weights will definitely make you more muscular an not necessarily lose weight. Muscle weighs more than fat. I am trimming down. I am not worried about being Big with muscles just fit. I run a few times a week. Fortunate to have an indoor track at my gym but I run outside too. After seeing my belly stick out in some pics of me in T shirts and other clothes and then not seeing it stick out before I am determined to keep my belly trim. That includes cardio and cardio an did I mention cardio? I am not a fan of running.....but it seems I do enjoy it the more I do it.

I'll be doing fitness too.... and not the old kind of fitness I did (fitness whole pizza in my mouth)....
Plans to start running 5ks..... But I have no desire to end up with chiseled muscles, etc
Don't forget to do core work. Leg lifts and crunches and stuff for your mid section. Do it til you think you cant do anymore and then do 2 more reps. Rest between sets. Mountain climbers work too. Plank and so on.......... that stuff really helps a lot. If you do a little core work then rest a bit then go run. Its best to do cardio after your workout. It does more good that way.

Losing weight and just getting into better overall shape. Been walking between 15K to 20K steps per day and doing some light weight workouts. Not looking to bulk up just tone up. I have about 35 pounds to lose. Lost 5 so far in January.
dropping weight for sure is my number one priority.
dropping weight for me.....i could stand to lose 60 lbs.....started this week by eating better, different and not as much....when the weather and daylight start to get right around here i'll start walking and/or riding a bike.....

Remember that lifting weights and full body/complex exercises (dead lift, squats, lunges, kettlebell workouts, burpee’s, etc.) will burn fat much quicker than cardio. This is even more important as you get older and you start to have lower testosterone levels. Cardio depresses T-levels and weights increase it. I can promise that unless you lift very heavy and eat tons of extra protein and take tons of supplements, you will not gain big muscle mass. You will just get leaner and stronger.
A day on the lake when you are fit, is much more enjoyable.
Doing cardio after you lift weights is more beneficial than doing cardio first.

For me, number one priority is weight loss.
