Remember that lifting weights and full body/complex exercises (dead lift, squats, lunges, kettlebell workouts, burpee’s, etc.) will burn fat much quicker than cardio. This is even more important as you get older and you start to have lower testosterone levels. Cardio depresses T-levels and weights increase it. I can promise that unless you lift very heavy and eat tons of extra protein and take tons of supplements, you will not gain big muscle mass. You will just get leaner and stronger.
A day on the lake when you are fit, is much more enjoyable.
