I use 12lb sniper. But I must say, I’m no professional jerkbait fisherman either!

10 pound test Izorline Platinum is what I use with jerkbaits.

I use 10lb. Cajun Line red for all my crankbait and jerkbait applications... I bought it one time because that's all they had and have never had a problem. Quality stuff... Dan

50 pound braid (12 lb diameter...) with an 8 or 10 lb fluoro leader. I like Sunline FC Leader.

The main thing I’ve noticed is that lighter line will get them down deeper. To a lesser extent you probably get “better” (more erratic at least) action with lighter line.

    8 is best
    10 is good
    12 is fine
Brand is less important but fluoro is better than mono. Mono has natural stretch and rebound so the lure will creep when the line rebounds rather than just stopping dead as with fluoro.

Heavier line restricts the movement you are trying to create with a jerkbait and the lure will fail to maximize the erratic action it was created to have.

That said I prefer to fish 8 but depending on the size of the fish and the importance of the catch (tournaments) I might upsize to 10 or 12.
