    Lost another one of our fishermen today

    Jimmy Matthews of Tarboro past away this afternoon.He was a long time Eastern NC tournament fishmerman.He has been fighting an illness for years now and has not fished in a couple years.He has surely been missed and we will miss seeing him on the water.He was a true friend and competitor.

    Jimmy Ray Matthews, 64, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at his home.

    Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 2:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Freeman officiating.

    Jimmy was the owner of Matthews & Company, a landscaping and Irrigation Company he operated for over 25 years.

    Jimmy enjoyed life, his family, friends, four legged companions and fishing.

    A committal service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, January, 27 at 11:00am at Hamilton Boat Ramp, Hamilton, NC. The family would like to request that you dress causal to honor Jimmy’s wishes as they scatter his cremains in the Roanoke River where he loved to bass fish.
