    Solix Update 3.110

Perhaps my memory is at fault.... Under the files tool I do not remember that any SD card I insert will be encrypted automatically if not write protected or already encrypted. What I recall is I had to select that option. Anybody else noticed that/ I don't think it creates a problem but found that unusual. It does show the options for card 1 and card 2, but it does not wait for selection. Bob

I noticed mine did that also when I put the my saved settings SD card in. I didn't even have to go to the files folder, as soon I put it in it automatically encrypted.

Won’t encrypting a card lock it so it can only be used in that unit unless you format the card and lose all data?

I erased the encrypt file and the data menu settings were not seen! I subsequently installed locked so it would not encrypt again and still could not see the files on the Solix.(they were there on the PC. I then reinstalled without the write protect so it re-encrypted but the nav data and settings were available. Something is strange and I would lock your chips till there is some change or reassurance from HB it is OK!

I was wrong. My message was ‘encryption failed’ because my card was locked

Auto encryption is a new feature, not a bug. It does not affect anything. Just puts that file on the memory card.

I was trying to find the write up in the update doc. to see the reason for it but I could not find it.

I agree..... mine encrypted but it didn't stop me from moving images to it after the update.

it appears the card has to be encrypted now to select it as the default save location for screen shots. it wouldn't let me choose my sd card until the encryption was done

Yes it is used as a memory card identifier. The new FishSmart linking is involved also.
