    Ultrex spacer for 52” shaft

Bought a 52” shaft Ultrex Friday, so while I’m waiting for it to be delivered I made a spacer for the longer bracket to clear the bow shroud. The material is 1” Black King Starboard. The 1” board is giving me 1/4” clearance at the highest point on the bow shroud where the bracket will pass over it. Hope this helps others wanting the longer shaft motor.

You won't need one since you got the 45" .

I'm replacing a 45" fortrex with a 52" ultrex. If your putting on a 45" ultrex the factory spacer is what you should use. The 52" has a longer bracket and requires a thicker spacer to clear the bow shroud.

What are the issues using a 52" w/o the spacer and are they only problematic on certain models? Thanks in advance. BTW that is some clean looking work there man, nicely done.

Thank you. If you tried mounting the 52" bracket without the spacer the bow shroud will interfere with the bracket sitting flat on the boat. Your only 2 option will be (1) cut into your bow shroud to accommodate the longer bracket (2) Make a spacer at least 3/4" thick.
My boat is a 15 921 Pro XP, don't hold me to it but I think the 2017 models have a new design bow shroud that doesn't require a spacer, but I think this may only be for the PHX models
