I'm taking a 2 hour break. MLF is on and my blood pressure was a little high. I did at least get the rear transducer cable run along with some power wires from the back to the console. I'm hoping to go to the lake tomorrow. I may cheat and run the front unit off the factory harness for the time being.

I was fighting some of the same issues installing the new HDS unit. Even though I had put a pull string in place when I put in the old transducer it was a little harder running the totalscan transducer due to the large connectors Lowrance uses. I also had to remount my transducer block on the transom as I had mounted it a little low for the new unit. I was able to move it up using the same holes in the transom that that was good. Off to the lake in a few to test out the HDS and put some more time on the motor.
I didn't finish. I got both Helix units mounted along with the cables and speaker for the Hydrowave. Still got to mount the transom transducer and wire the back unit up. I've been looking for a fuse block locally but no where has one like I want to use. I got to the point of where I figured I'd better quit instead of short-cutting. Probably get back at it in a little bit.

Were you using the iconelli edition snake?

Finished it up and everything works.... at least for the moment. Lake test sometime this week. Probably gonna take me 5 more hours to get all the junk out the boat and put up. Now that it's useable it's time to work on all the little projects.

You haven't truly lived until you've laid on your back under your boat putting fiberglass cloth and resin over a big tin crack that happened on the first morning of a five day fishing trip to Ontario. The best part is the resin that drips onto you hair and after that stuff cures it ain't ever coming out until you cut it out. Yes, I've wanted to do more than drop kick a boat.

Ha! I was working on the bottom of a Triton aluminum I had one time and cut my head on the trailer and got a staph infection. That was fun.

My trailer bunks decided to let me know they were starting to wet rot on the Cougar down in Florida a few years ago. So, there I was laying on my back in a puddle while it rained, at night, trying to force a few big bolts I'd picked up at a local Home Depot in some firm wood further up the bunk. I was cussing not brining my cordless drill, cussing about everything about then LOL.
I pulled her 1800 miles at so home, got C&O to put new double wrapped 2x6's on on sold that one a year later for my current boat. Half the routine maintence on this RT.
I think we all have been there. Wiring projects are my least favorite. Im very picky and want it all clean and that takes alot of time and alot of its tedious. Especially when there are a pile of wires to solder lol. glad you got it all done its all worth it in the end.
