    819 with single axle trailer

Hey guys, I have found a 2016 819 for sale at a fair price. However, it has the then standard single axle trailer. I know that for 2017 they went to a dual axle trailer as standard equipment. Anyone either have the single, or know of someone with one, to guide me as to whether this is a potential problem. Thanks.

I've got a 19 ft champion on a single axle and like it. Just be sure to pay special attention to bearings etc. I also went to 15 inch wheels to make it easier to find load range D tires.

One reason I went from a 18.8 single axle (other brand) to the Phoenix is because of that reason. I always carried a full hub assembly and spindle. I am sure you will be fine, but diligence will be key

I have the tandem and it's nice. But like has been said, keep an eye on tires and don't drive like a maniac, you'd be fine. If it's a good deal take it. The singles do tow a little nicer, don't tug as hard. I had a Ranger 461 with tandem and wished many times I had the single for maneuverability.

I have a 2017 819 with dual axles. I debated long & hard between single and dual and went with duals. I also need to swing my trailer about 130 degrees after I unhook so I bought 2 "go-jacks" from Harbor Freight like these:1250 lb. Capacity Vehicle Positioning Wheel Dolly. Much happier with the dual axles and no real problem moving the boat/trailer around. PM me for more info if needed.

    Yes, would be great choice!

My prior boat was a boat similar in size to the 818. I had 4 blowouts. What I did not understand at the time. Tires were being pushed to 100% of load c capacity. Tires only rated to 65; I was towing at 72. That tires loose sidewall capacity as they age. A boat tire is done at 2 to 3 years regardless of condition according to the manufactures; all my blowouts were on 3 and 4year old tires.

I have load D's on my smaller 618. Tires don't squat down like load c because of increased tire pressure. They tow much better.

Do two go jacks work to move a dual axel or would 4 be better? I can roll my dual axel straight but that’s about it.

    Great info!
After reading your post I realized I have really been pushing my luck with my tires. I have been looking at them thinking they have plenty of tread on them so they should be OK. I'll be tire shopping in the next couple weeks before spring. Thanks again

two works just fine for me on a fairly level concrete floor. I didn't see the need for 4.

Decided to go with these tires on my single axle Skeeter trailer. Speed rated N to 87 mph and load rated D. And made in the USA

I don't own these tires but think you will be surprised. I was shocked how much easier the boat was to get moving in the garage after sitting for a month.

That makes sense with the extra air pressure. I feel much better with the higher rated ( speed & load ) tire. It gives me more confidence on longer trips. Thanks again for the good insight
