    Let’s talk batteries.

So my optima failed me ( after 4 years) midway through the year last year. It was a blue top with 750 cca. Basically I couldn’t use my electronics that much because it would just cut off until I started the motor again to charge it some more. So while it’s cold I’m was going to change it up, only problem is I changed electronics as well. I was hoping to try to find the best of my options so I turn to you guys. I have a 05 yami Vmax. And a lowrance HDs 5 at the bow. Now I upgraded to a helix 9 mega at th console, I’m really just looking for something that will crank the battery and the lowrance will run for more that 30-45 mins at a time. Can you guys help?

Deka 31 AGM has been very good for me, starting a 250 H.O. and running bigger electronics than you now have.

If you have a Battery Plus store nearby, you should look at the X2 Power 31AGM. I run this battery for over 8 hours with my 2 livewells and 2 HDS 12 running and it didn't seem to hurt the battery one bit.

Over the years I have tried just about all of them yet I still go back to Dekka. Im going to try the Duracell’s next since I can get a discount of them through Sams Club.

Brandon- I'm using the x2 from batteries plus as well. We have them in NKY; not sure about Lex. I'm running the 27 size as I don't run livewells; just a 8 and 7 inch graph. Working very well. Time will tell if I get 5 to 7 years use.

I did look at them, that was actually where I got the Deka. When I asked them about it they didn't seem to know a lot about batteries. Maybe its just me but if I work in a BATTERY store I would try to know my products, but who knows just like most customer service anymore its gone out the window.

The 31 series X2 at Batteries Plus is a rebadged 31 Northstar. Identical batteries. Salesman should have known that. One of the best AGM's around right now and it seems like with 10% off the price, many of the people on BBC buy it there.
