Wait times can be months from what I'm told. My wife really likes her speed cook microwave. I like dinner on the table when I get home. It works.

I thought about selling my old stove, but it was over 25 yrs old, still looked pretty good for it's age, and while it still worked, it didn't maintain even temperatures in the oven or on the burner eyes.

Just called the scrap metal guy, and gave him that and all my old pots & pans..all gone & out of my hair in 1 fell swoop.

i am a believer in whirlpool though, always had good luck with them...
For appliances that last find the commercial sales rep at an established appliance store and find out what they are putting in apartments. These are usually the toughest units however they also usually lack a lot of the "bells & whistles". when it comes to appliances simple will almost always outlast the Cadillac stuff.. If you need Caddie stuff, he who has the best electronics wins.

Every single appliance in our home is Samsung. Not an issue at all in the 3-4 years we have owned them. We chose mid level priced stuff and it's held up great for us.

Thanks guys, looks like I will be rolling the dice with whichever brand I go with and I agree with the consensus that the simpler the better. Not sure why I would want a touch screen or Keurig in the door. But I didn't realize the differences between the induction versus regular ranges. I will give them a strong look.

The more gadgets the more things to break. Most options get set once and never changed. The white appliances your grandmother had still look good and always match. Get a bottom freezer refig. Top freezer, when you open the refig. Door the first thing you do is bend over.

Buy the middle of the line appliances. These are the ones most often company's have parts in stock for.
