What mapping software for a DragonFly 6 for here in East Texas

Picked up a used DragonFly 6 unit and was trying to decide on what lake mapping software would be best.

Looks like the mapping software is going to cost more than what I paid for the unit. I visited the Raymarine site and they sell the Fishing Hot Spots Pro Freshwater series, is it worth its salt or just stick with the Navionics?

I'd check here and make sure the lakes you fish are on the Hot Spots map.

I still prefer Navionics, but Hot Spots is good also.

So I just put the Nav card in my A98. Does the unit load this automatically or do I have to select those maps?

OK so apparently the A98 has no maps built in. I put the 4gb mini sd (says nothing on the card) in and it auto loaded it.

Here is what is on it. Whats in red seems to have depth contours. I see no lakes in Texas on it. Kinda weird the West coast is tho.

So what are all the red boxes? Do you pick one of those boxes and then it defaults to that area? I am sure it's simple once you figure it all out.

Not sure. I just zoomed in to those areas and saw contours on the lakes. And none in the areas without the red

Red boxes outline a lake that is on the card. Correct, zoom in and you will see the contour lines.

Correct, a98 does not have any pre-loaded maps - none of our units do. You should be able to go to Menu, Presentations and look for the chart. It will tell you what Navionics card it is.

Like Jig said, go to the menu and make sure you have the sonar logs map selected.
