Mixing AGM battery with Wet Cell for Trolling motor?

I have a 24v TM which requires of course two batteries. Both batteries are presently wet cell ,can I replace one of the batteries with an AGM? Yes My charger can charge AGM batteries.

Can you? Sure, it will provide 24v and make the prop spin. Is it a great idea? Not really. The different discharge characteristics will shorten the life of one, if not both, batteries.

It is usually recommended that when you replace a trolling motor battery you do both at the same time. If the older battery is weaker it will pull down the new one.
