Had a DF 55 horse years ago & it was one tough motor. If we had good service techs around here for them i’d buy one in a heartbeat. They are great motors for sure.

I am running the 250ss, the motor intended for the bass boat market. It has been flawless for 9 years.

As it was back in late 80s and early 90s dealer network is important. Down here don't know anyone selling enough to have a suzuki mechanic on site.

With the recent news about Yamaha shortages, are they stepping up or just taking an opportunity to fill a void at little cost?

The problem with Suzuki is no where within a 4 hour drive services them in my parts. Otherwise, I would have considered one.

How hard is an oil change?
Pick up a wrench once in a while.

All zuke parts are available at brownspoint.com

Loved my DF140. Ran that thing wide open everywhere I went for 5 years. Had a minor vapor lock issue with ethanol when it was over 85 outside. Ran non-E fuel and no more problems.
    Great motor.

They are not taking over the saltwater market but they are taking over the saltwater repower market. Much cheaper, good engineering, readily available, simple repairs/maintenance.

I repowered the new boat when my Opti popped with a 250 SHO but would not have any hesitation switching to the Zuke 250SS

I have a 4 stroke Zuke. It seems to me Suzuki could put a series of videos similar to Youtubes on how to do ones own maintenance. I do all my fluids and filters and anodes and water pumps and plugs, but there are some 400 hour services I may need done.
