    Trolling motor shaft length

This is for the Bass Tracker owners that have changed out their factory trolling motors. What length shaft did you go with? I went with the 45" on a 80lb Maxxum and it sits fairly shallow. I am looking at adding a HB 360 unit and curious about the fit and depth.

I went with a 52” shaft on my maxxum and don’t regret it one bit. When I had 45” if I was ever fishing rough water it was constantly breaking the surface of the water causing tons of torque steer on the foot pedal.. not a problem with the 52”. Now with the 52” if I go shallow say 1.5-2’ deep I have like 6-7” of shaft sticking above the mount which to me really isn’t that big a deal.

I went with the 45" and now I am wishing that I had went with the 52". I am thinking about adding a 360 and wondering about the depth issue.

I went with the 45” and it works great for me. But I don’t have as much weight in the back as many.
