    Caught this over the weekend in Idaho. My new personal best perch at 16 1/2"!

    Ya it was out of Cascade. It was my first trip up there and we pulled out 4 over 15" in the same day. It lived up to it's reputation for sure.

    I didn't get a weight on it but I'm with you it is probably in that 2.5 pound area. I wonder how big it would have gotten right before the spawn next month but this one will never get to see that it is heading for the wall.

    Dumb question but did you use a guide/freelance. My wife has a friend out there and was thinking of going out for a few days. She could hang around with her friend and I go fishing.

    I hope your taxidermist scales it before he goes to work on it. I have two 13.5"ers on my wall. They're awesome to look at.

    No I didn't use a guide. This was my first time out there and was able to get on fish fairly quickly. Finding the jumbos took a little more time but still doable if your not afraid to bounce around until you find them. To my knowledge there is only one licensed guide on that body of water and I have heard good things about him from a few different people. I just didn't see the need for myself since I have tons of gear myself and kind of know what I'm doing lol

    I ended up weighing it right before I took it to him. It was frozen already and it weighed 2.56 pounds so it was probably over 2.6 when it was caught.
